Charles Xavier is an extremely powerful telepath who can hear the thoughts of people around him intentionally and sometimes unintentionally. If people are particularly upset or loud in their mind, he doesn't always have a choice. He also has strong empathy and can experience other people's emotions through their minds. He has reality manipulation and can make people see, think, and feel things they wouldn't ordinarily. He can freeze them entirely.

Please reply to this if you would like Charles to never have access to your character's thoughts and feelings. If you would like to add stipulations like 'I will give you permission if I choose to in specific cases' that's totally fine.

Please reply to this if you're fine with Charles reading your character's minds and feelings. I will still always ask permission before I have him read anything that might be vital to your character or their growth. I always lean on the side of asking too frequently. I would also appreciate you replying here and letting me know any details you for sure would enjoy him picking up on and knowing about your character in advance.

If you ever feel uncomfortable about a tag in which he understands something about your character you don't like, please let me know and I will rewrite it immediately. I will never mind this! He's a godmod-y character so I want to be thorough.

Yes, please! Charles is more than welcome to do his thing. Whatever you know from Kimiko's canon that you want to bring it, feel free. I can't guarantee she'll always respond warmly, but that's only an IC problem.

He's absolutely allowed in! There are zero defenses in this mushroom's brain. I will gently link An Zhe's ability post, as there is the option for it to be a two-way street kind of deal. (Accidentally on An Zhe's end.) I am absolutely down for Charles to glean anything out of An Zhe's tags, and super open to talking about any swaps or anything specific for whatever scenario they might find themselves in.

read! that! mind! Strange doesn't have any 'keep this telepath out of my head' magic, so have at it. One thing that's probably very apparent if he does only the surface level poking is that Strange's mental state isn't the best. I have no idea what lingering effects "creating and consuming a potion of concentrated madness which renders the drinker insane for a short period of time" have on the psyche but let's be real, there's gotta be an effect on the psyche.

I am both here for mind-reading and specifically for Charles figuring out that Cable is Scott's son. I am also down for Cable knowing Charles is in his head and telling him to bug off.

You've got free rein with Logan, obviously, and any emotion/thought/etc. that's mentioned in the meta text is totally okay for Charles to pick up on. Logan pretty much trusts Charles 100% and will never be bothered by having him in his head.

REALIZING I HAVEN'T ANSWERED HERE YET!!!! but I am 100% on board for Charles to pick up on anything/everything Karen is feeling or thinking, or really anything in the meta text for him to pick up on. she's a bit of an open book anyway, and I'm fully comfortable with him knowing any of that. c:

she'll have a range of reactions to the whole daredevil/secret identity of it all because that's a little big triggering for her (see: dds3) but you know I, as a player, am SO down to play with any/all of that. c:

I am fine with Charles reading anything off Arlecchino he can get! There is a little tidbit re: empathy in her canon that is handy:

"I believe I've told you before that my emotions easily resonate with those of others. Yet, in the few meetings I've had with that Harbinger [Arlecchino], I haven't been able to sense any aspect of her emotional state. Her mind is like a still body of water — who knows what darkness lies in its depths, and the lack of ripples on the surface gives nothing away. It's unclear whether this is her natural state of being, or whether it's an incredible strength of will that gives her the ability to master her emotions. Either scenario, however, suggests she is a very dangerous individual."

So essentially, Charles probably wouldn't get much of anything from her on accident; he'd have to dig, and even then he'd probably have to go pretty deep since she's very careful about suppressing her immediate emotional responses.

Her raw thoughts, however, are game in my book! I'm happy to roll with anything, but feel free to ask questions too.

I'm good with it!! livio has dissociative identity disorder and has a second personality, razlo, born from trauma, who is currently dormant but comes out when livio's life is in extreme danger. livio himself is a reformed villain trying to do good, and shy, emotional, and socially awkward. his second personality, razlo is a lot more vulgar and violent and he exists to protect livio, essentially

livio also looks/acts like he's in his 30s but is actually about 16

i'm good with the attempt, but given the nature of murderbot's brain, i'm thinking it'll be really fucking weird, and not completely successful? would probably feel like a hacking attempt to MB? So, high chance Charles will get some vague and confusing whispers of scattered memory and not-quite-complete emotion without a logical path. Like a thought/emotion/memory starts, and in the middle of itself, careens into a huge cavern of machine programming he can't access. And all that'll be fairly swiftly overpowered by MB feeding him all of season 17 of Sanctuary Moon. Since Charles isn't a construct, I don't think MB would be able to trace the source back to him, but it'll be spooked as hell and vacate the area asap.

as for being able to control or freeze it, seeing as MB has already kind of mind-hacked itself, and I also would not want to risk the complete tanking of CR that would come from having someone force a governor module equivalent back onto it, I'm going to say Charles wouldn't be able to control Murderbot's behavior or freeze it. So maybe just read the vague incomplete human neural tissue part, but doesn't have admin-authority to alter anything. BUT Charles would also be able to tell Murderbot what it's feeling a lot better than what MB could identify itself, what with the whole aggressive avoidance to feeling. I'd also say Charles could probably immediately tell there's something distinctly inorganic about Murderbot's brain. SO. There's that. if we want to plot out something special, we can always finagle with it a bit later. Does that sound cool with you?

Works for me! Charles almost never pokes around people's brain without permission regardless, but there are times when he accidentally picks up things, or there might be a time when he feels he has to communicate, and it wouldn't work. We can always talk when something comes up that seems right for it!

You know a lot of this already from Istredd in Abraxas but I figured I would swing in and give you the cliffs notes again in case it's ever relevant:

-Charles can totally read his mind
-Jack's brain will probably stand out as Weird or Off to Charles, like there's something distinctly wrong or unusual with it, it just doesn't match with the way normal human brains are supposed to work
-He can also pick up that Jack is slightly psychic, and has some very mild post-cognitive and pre-cognitive tendencies
-He has some mild natural resistance to mind control; this is something Charles is absolutely strong enough to override, but if he's not concentrating on it very hard Jack might eventually naturally snap out of it
-He's also immune to having his memory wiped, and Charles is welcome to sense that too!
-He may sense other 'entities' or presences in the recesses of Jack's mind; I can give you more deets on that if it ever becomes relevant
-On a non-supernatural note, Charles may be able to occasionally sense that while Jack seems awake, functional, conversational, etc, he is actually in the lightest stage of sleep, retaining some awareness of his surroundings, is hallucinating, and is acting out his dreams thanks to a case of parasomnia with somnambulism
-IDK if his telepath powers would let Charles sense the whole Jack being a walking power battery full of a thousand lifetimes of void rift radiation thing, I'll leave that up to you but it's a thing that is true so whatever you think is best there
