X-Men Holiday Special
Who: XMCU folks
Where: Ororo's Community Space
When: December 24th
What: This is a holiday mingle for X-People so use as you need!
Warnings: None as of yet!
The Set Up
Charles left a card for every person in the extended family (that includes you John) in his distinct handwriting.
If they see him any time before this in December, he will be certain to ask them if they saw the card, and try to encourage them to come. With his hopeful big blue eyes, you can't say no!
Ororo has been hard at work setting up her new community space, and it's being pieced together due to her efforts and donated time and items from others. While the space is far from finished, there's enough in there to suit the ten people invited to this party. The abandoned temple is very much still under construction, but this space has been put together enough to protect from the outdoors and establish a little living room section. Charles managed to snag this couch and two matching chairs at an amazingly good price, but there are a few other scattered and non-matching chairs in the space.
There is a small table with various liquors scored from around the Panorama set up for people to enjoy from. There is a slightly longer table with food provided by the southern belle herself, Rogue, who has kindly offered to cook for the group. None of the furniture is new or polished, but they won't fall from the weight on them, so there's that.
On a coffee table, Charles has managed to find a few games that he was given for good deals: Connect 4, a pack of playing cards, and a Jenga set. Feel free to have your characters go one-on-one with each other and see who is the winner, or settle on the couch and have a chat with a drink. This room is enclosed, but if people want to step outside to talk or have a smoke, there is that option.
Logan has dragged in a decent enough small plastic tree, and playfully put two eyes on it. One thing people can do if they like is attempt to decorate it together. The decorations are cheap tinsel and a few glass animals hanging on a thread, but the vibe is the point. There is also a menorah set up with candles that can be lit or has already been lit people can see.
The Toast
Later into the evening, when everyone is still there, Charles will ding his glass with a spoon to get everyone's attention.
"Thank you for coming, and to everyone who volunteered their time to set this up. Especially to Ororo, who offered us this space she's working on, and Rogue, who cooked the food. I am so thrilled and grateful to see you here, and to have gotten to know each of you in this world. I hope we will continue to thrive as long as we are here, and that you know I will always be here for any of you. I know this is not the mansion, and I cannot provide what I typically do from it, but I think good food and company are all we truly need during the holidays. And to remember that together, we can accomplish anything, big or small.
I have designed a simple gift for everyone to have. I ask that you take one, even if you choose not to wear it. I promise I will not be disappointed. But I want you to have it. Thank you again, and please have fun."
Under the plastic tree that Logan got and they decorated is a simple black hat beanie with a red X stitched into it. They are a bit 'one size fits all,' but it's decently warm material for the winter.
